About Amsterdam Comedy Festival

THE AMSTERDAM COMEDY FESTIVAL is large event held each year at the festival ground of the Melkweg in Amsterdam Netherlands.
THE MELKWEG(MILKY WAY)is a music, comedy, and cultural center in Amsterdam. Located on the Lijnbaansgracht, near Leidseplein, an amazing night entertainment center in Amsterdam. The Melkweg is part of former warehouse (a former dairy factory)there are spaces for Music, Comdedy, dance/theater, cinema, photography and media-art. The Melkweg is suported by a non-profit organisation The Melkweg, a non-profit organisation, was founded in 1970 much hard work, ambition and NLG 25,000 (about EUR 11,000 or $15,000)the group transformed the factory into what we see today.
It is referenced in the Cracker song "Euro-Trash Girl"

the Lagwagon song "Infectious"

and in title of the Half Man Half Biscuit song "Prag Vec at the Melkweg".
The title of The Church's song "Under the Milky Way" references the Melkweg.
